Desktop and Laptop Hardware Support by ICT, for Equipment covered by Service Agreements
Commencing 1 November 2007, ICT will provide full hardware support for desktop and laptop equipment which:
- Was purchased/leased through a University of Sydney preferred supplier;
- Is owned or leased by a Faculty or unit who are covered by an ICT Service Agreement; and
- Is covered by a next business day (NBD) on-site warranty.

Internet/Web Traffic Pricing Change
As of 04/12/2006 the price of all internet and web traffic to and from sites outside the University network has been reduced to 2.0 cents/Mb.
Anti-Spam Upgrade
The University has implemented an automatic spam filtering system called "Pure Message". Messages to University email addresses pass through this new spam and antivirus filter.
This filter quarantines emails which have more than a 50% probability of being spam. A list of the emails which have been quarantined is then sent to the mailbox once a day, around midday.
Messages that are quarantined and are not spam messages can be released as described in the quarantine email.
